Kickboxer falls to ground like a log after being knocked spark out by vicious head kick

The latest muay thai kickboxing show to take place in England left fans stunned after English fighter Callum Patterson knocked his opponent clean out with a vicious head kick.

Patterson and Nathaniel Chiteza were trading blows during their Sidekick Boxing bout in Bolton when the frenzied action came to an abrupt end.

After Chiteza had shown off his fast hands by unleashing a left hook and then a series of body shots, Patterson repelled the attack with a neat leg-kick.

And then as Chiteza momentarily dropped his hands, the former Northern Kings Gym fighter unleashed another vicious swing of his right leg – connecting with his rival’s head.

The blow appeared to instantly knock out the fighter, whose hands were down by his side as he toppled over like a log.

Referee Jesse Saunders, who also runs the promotion, had waved the bout off before Chiteza had even hit the floor, and was quick to attend to him on the deck before team members also entered the ring.

There was no shortage of excitement on commentary, with one announcer shouting “That was a high kick to put him clean out.

“That was horrific. And Jesse Saunders was in like a cat.”

To the credit of Patterson’s cornermen, they swiftly asked him to curtail any celebrations while his beaten foe lay motionless on the mat.

Footage of the brutal finish was posted on Twitter by @Beyond_Kick, an account that describes itself as ‘The Home of Kickboxing’ and boasts over 11,300 followers.

The clip promoted a big reaction, with many praising the speed with which Saunders reacted as official.
